Sledding
Jake took a good spill too! If you look close he has snow up his nose! We thought the pics. of the wipeouts were funny so thats why we posted them. The hill was fun and most of the time we made good runs from top to bottom without wiping out. It would be fun to go with everyone so we may have to work on that!!!!!!!

Christmas 2008
We had a good Christmas! The kids were happy with what Santa got them. After opening presents we went over to grandma Barbara's and Dave's to open presents. We had a nice morning with them. We stayed through lunch and watched movies.
Jamie told me all through dec. that Santa promised he was bringing her a bike. To begin with it wasn't on Santa's list but buy Christmas Eve Santa had found time to put it in his bag. She was soooooo excited! Jess and Jake were happy with their i-pods and jordin got a dvd palyer and movies to go with her flat screne t.v.
Christmas morning after all the unwrapping we took a few minutes and wrote down our testimonies and any goals we have and put them in the stocking we have hanging for Jesus which is a reminder for us to remember him. We will read those testimonies on easter. This has been a traditon for 3 years and it is a great one! I love Christmas!!!!!!!

Santa's Bag
Ok so we missed the family christmas party! We had already committed to other things so when the party was moved to Sunday we had a big decision to make. I know family is so very important but too many things were on our plate for Sunday and as a family decided we would stick to our plans.
Jake was able to pass the sacrament for the first time on Sunday. Of course he was in the spot that serves the bishopbric first but low and behold the stake presidency was there and the area missionaries. Jake did great and did exactly as it was suppost to be done. We are so proud of him.
Last week I was asked to do the 1st ward christmas program. I had done it for our ward last year and i guess word got around that it was good so I was asked to do it for the first ward. Clark and lueanne jorgensen were in charge, they were so grateful they said they would do anything in return. So since clark is Santa's helper this year we decided as a family to suprise a less fortunate family by shopping and filling up Santa's bag. Santa picked up the bag from us and continued on to the house we had picked. He did suprise the family and they were all grateful. They figured out it was us but it was the perfect highlite of our Christmas. The kids also shopped for the angel tree at our ward and the funny thing is we bought for the same family we sent Santa to but we don't mind. Giving is the reason for the Season!!!!
Later we had dinner at Grandma Barbara's and then off to the Trek fireside. We really enjoyed the fireside and remembering the Trek and the feelings we had while we were there. We went in rememberance of the Openshaw family. We are so excited to share the pictures and memories in behalf of Gene's family.
Christmas Programs
Jessica is in 4th grade. THey performed at the high school. Of course u can see her in her new dress she was excited to wear. I don't know for sure what the girl next to jessica is singing but I am guessing by the looks of her it couldn't have been the same song. Good job Jess and Jake!!!

Jamie's Preschool Christmas Program
Jamie had her first Christmas program. It was about three Christmas tree's. Two were cut down and one was left alone so the animals decided to decorate it for christmas. As you can see Jamie was a bird. She flew in and put an ornament on the tree. The video above the pictures is one of the songs they sang. She did a great job!!!!!!
Jake's 12th SURPIRSE Birthday party
This year we decided to throw a suprise party for jake. I told him we were just taking him to dinner and he could take his best friend Carson Young. He was ok about that. We told him Kenny had to work so it was just me and the boys. Meanwhile Kenny was up at Claire's cooking pizza and getting the boys we invited all set up in the Theatre room. We had borrowed a cheerleader outfit from Claire for jake"s halloween costume so that was my way of getting him to claire's without suspecting anything since we needed to return the clothes. When we got to the door we asked if we could see the theatre room cause we were thinking of using it for Jordin's birthday. Claire took us down and we had jake walk in first and the boy's jumped out from behind the couch and scared Jake to death. It was way fun!!!!
Dressed up for the Ward Christmas party
Jessica, Kenny and I had seperate parts in the ward Christmas party this year. Jessica had to sing with 7 other angels. They all looked so pretty as they sang. Kenny played Osama Bin Laden oh I mean a very gracious but scarey looking wise man. I had to sing with 9 other ladies which the very next day I lost my voice. between Tammy and I we have done the christmas programs at church for the last 5 years so not being in charge of this one was strange. I did do the program for the first ward though. It was called "Twa's the Night before Jesus came" We had done it for our ward last year and they wanted us to do it for them. It turned out great!!!
Santa and his Elf at the Candy Store
This year at the candy store kenny was our Santa's helper and jess was his elf.
Jamie was sooo excited to see Santa! I was afraid she would recognize Kenny but she didn't. As you can see Grandma couldn't get Jamie to even sit on his lap.
Kenny changed afterwards in the back room and left the clothe's on a box for me to return. That next morning Jamie and I went to work she walked in the back room and saw the clothe's and the hair laying there. All I heard was "Oh my gosh what happened to Santa!" It looked like he had melted. So I told her he changed into comfy clothes before he left so he didn't get them dirty. She believed me but was wondering how he could take off his hair. It all ended up good and she still believe's in Santa Claus.
